Cedarbrook Middle School chosen for Million Bazillion Live! Tour

Cedarbrook Middle School of the Cheltenham School District hosted the Million Bazillion Live! Tour on Wednesday, November 8 at 9:30am and 1:30pm.

Presented in a game show format, Million Bazillion Live! includes personal finance trivia, challenges, and prizes. During the show, students cheered on their classmates while learning about real money matters such as budgeting, saving, and investing.

Competing for the “Blue team”—this morning’s winner—was Noelle Bailey and Kelis Rivera. The “Yellow team” was made up of Ava Billa and Autumn Boyd.

The tour includes 60 schools from around the country and is based on the Webby-winning Million Bazillion kids’ podcast from American Public Media. The podcast intends to bring financial knowledge and empowerment to middle school students.

From the event’s description:

Personal finance education still is not a requirement for students to graduate in all 50 states. 27 states don’t require a personal finance course, even though teens score an average of 64% on the National Financial Literacy Test. At the same time, 93% of teens know they need financial knowledge and skills to achieve their life goals — and 97% of parents agree.*
